Lost Age D and D random characters

I’ve been working on a D&D campaign with my ten year old son. We came up with characters a while back, and last week we started talking about world building. He wanted a story set in a world of knights and dinosaurs. I had told him about Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World recently, and he mentioned that as an inspiration.

That got me thinking about early colonial history, so I came up with a quasi-mesoamerican continent populated by dinosaurs.
